Case Study : Alliance ICIS, Glendale

Alliance Residential’s new “urban boutique resort” style property has help to redefine the local landscape. The property was built ground up to cater to the onslaught of creative professionals working in the Glendale community just minutes away from Disney & Warner Bros. studios. Many design cues stem from the hotel and resort space.

Project Summary

In 2012, AFP was engaged by the Alliance development team to help design a unique and functional fitness facility around the theme of the greater property. Erick Blaha, AFP Key Account Manager, collaborated with Carlee Carpio, development coordinator and her team create a wellness amenity that would redefine the standard for luxury residential fitness in the area.

The greater community features further include free WiFi; a game room with pool table, shuffleboard, TVs, espresso machine, and bar; lounge with a full kitchen that can be rented out; conference room; and a fully-equipped computer room. Outside is a pool area, fireplace, zen garden, barbecue area and TVs for movies or video games. Finally, there’s even a dog run and rooftop “woof deck” with dogwashing station.

Results

Alliance selected fitness equipment from Technogym that offered the design and technology appeal it felt would best fit its planned resident demographic.  Embedded VisioWeb touch screens, Kinesis functional cable Stations, TRX suspension training,  and Star Trac ESpinner’s, and a mounted heavy boxing bag round out the facility’s equipment highlights. Flooring and wall coverings have been integrated to insure a seamless flow and a progressive feel and vibe for lucky residents of ICIS.
