Case Study : Monster Fitness

Recently established in 2006, Monster Fitness is a health and fitness facility chain based in Antelope Valley, CA. The company has adopted a unique business model based on an innovative member referral program. Monster Fitness’ members have the ability to offset and eventually pay off their monthly membership fees through referrals of new members. Once these referral rewards exceed a member’s monthly fees, these members can literally earn additional income through this referral system.

Facility Description

When upstart health club brand Monster Fitness embarked on developing its brand and its flagship facility in Lancaster, CA, it turned to AFP to make sure it was everything the company envisioned and more. The company is targeting a young high school-to-college-aged consumer and basing its brand on offering enough top-of-the-line equipment that no member ever need wait on a machine.  Therefore, Monster Fitness needed state-of-the-art training equipment durable enough to withstand a higher level of wear and tear, and lots of it. Not only did AFP provide the equipment and service solutions to achieve this goal, it also immersed itself in Monster Fitness long-term vision as a true strategic partner providing expertise on all aspects of Monster Fitness’ business development in both the short and long term.

Project Summary

AFP was able to bring Monster Fitness’ vision to reality at its flagship location in Lancaster through its extensive planning and design expertise and an unparalleled arsenal of state-of-the-art Precor equipment. Monster Fitness envisioned creating a fitness center with so much of the best equipment available, that members would never be left waiting for a machine.  That vision is now a reality at the company’s Lancaster, CA facility.

Results

This first Monster Fitness facility opened to rave reviews. The company was extremely satisfied with AFPs intensive care and truly personal touch throughout the critical planning phase as it prepared to embark on its exciting corporate mission with its flagship facility. AFP continues its role as the ongoing service provider to Monster Fitness’ flagship facility. In addition, it maintains its partnership as an ongoing consultant in the development of Monster Fitness’ business and its plans to expand to additional facilities as its membership base continues to grow.
