Case Study : Irvine Apartment Communities (IAC)

When Irvine Apartment Communities (IAC) began strategically planning its newest multidwelling development - The Village at Irvine Spectrum Center - it called upon its long-time fitness consultants and partners at AFP. Ensuring that the fitness center within its Del Ray community was consistent with the upscale and contemporary feel of the entire complex was of the utmost priority. AFP provided the industry-leading equipment and entertainment amenities of Precor’s Cardio Experience line, as well as a full arsenal of Paramount strength training equipment and accessories. Furthermore, AFP provided unique solutions to eliminate the significant amount of wiring and coaxial cable that comes with such an extensive offering of entertainment-equipped cardio machines.

Project Summary

Located directly adjacent to the popular Irvine Spectrum entertainment, retail and dining complex, the Village at Irvine Spectrum is a new development from Irvine Apartment Communities (IAC), comprising four architecturally distinct luxury apartment communities. One of these four communities is Del Ray, offering a luxury residential experience, complete with the wide variety of amenities that the Irvine Spectrum complex has to offer. With an eye for the successful adult professional looking for a dynamic and active living experience, the Del Ray community demands the finest in fitness and exercise services to compliment the full array of high-end amenities available on the property.

Owner and developers, IAC tapped its long-time fitness consultancy partners at AFP to provide solutions necessary to ensure that the Del Ray fitness center was consistent with the upscale and contemporary feel of the entire complex.

In addition to the overall design and layout considerations that AFP oversees, the Del Ray project carried two primary points of focus. First was delivering the most state-of-the-art and high-quality exercise equipment available. Second, was providing entertainment amenities one would expect with an upscale facility to enhance each tenant’s training experience.

Results

AFP worked closely with IAC on the layout and design of the facility to ensure that placement of equipment created an open and free-flowing environment that maximized available space. With high-end, state-of-the-art equipment and entertainment features being a top priority, AFP implemented a variety of equipment. A full arsenal of treadmills, ellipticals and recumbent bikes were provided, all featuring personal viewing screens and personal entertainment packages (including personal I-pod docking stations).
